Rick Warren Says Surviving Isn’t Thriving

Rick Warren Says Surviving Isn’t Thriving on Oprah Life Class

Reblogged From Rick Warren Says Surviving Isn’t Thriving

Rick Warren Says Surviving Isn’t Thriving

There are three levels of living.

1. Survival 2.Success 3.Significance

Survival is simply dead man walking.

Unfortunately, that is what most people are.

They live for the weekend, waiting for the vacation, putting their time in to a job they don’t like.

They dread to go to work, and they dread for Mondays, and they live pay check to pay check.

Success is feel good, look good and having the goods.

The good life.

Trust me, it just wasn’t good enough

I had a six figure “job” but success without fulfillment is still a failure.

If I didn’t live my “calling in life”, if I didn’t feel I was impacting anyone’s lives, if I didn’t feel like I was progressing or living my passion,..I simply could not move forward.

Significance on the other hand, is moving to a higher level in life.

We are not made just for the good life but for the better life.

It is a lifetime learning process to understand, “why are we on this earth”,

“what is driving us.” “Does my life matter”  “What is my purpose in life”

I think God give us different passions in life, and also talents.

We are all different.

We also have different personality.

We can all make this a world better place if we are all doing what we are passionate about I think.

We can “Serve” better, we can “Do” better in this life.

I don’t think our life belong to us only.

We can extend ourselves to serve others with kindness, in grace, with love, in humility, with our gift.

Everyone “matters” in this life. Everyone can serve with his/her own story, experience, talent, message, gift.

I am here to serve, I want to help improve people think, change, and live boldly.

Picasso said it best,

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

“Daring Greatly”

“Daring Greatly”

Reblogged From “Daring Greatly”

I had a personal story that I wrote about myself, my struggles, my family

and posted on Facebook.

It went viral over a period of 2 weeks..

(over 142 comments 75 shares)

Most are good comments but for some reason it was the

few “ugly comments” that stood out and brought me down for days.

I know I should be happy my story went viral with dozens of inquiries about my business,

but you know

how you get called into your boss’ office for reviews…

all the conversation about accomplishments were forgotten and

all you can remember is the “Room for Improvement” section.

I was depressed and wonder why people are so mean??

Most people think marketing is all about me, me, me.

Most people had no idea how much courage it takes to put yourself out there

and be available for all kinds of critics.

It is also a constant battle in my mind to remind myself that

I am worthy despite of my past, “I am already successful”,

I am not here to brag, but to inspire.

This is why I researched about “how to tell your story” and  guess what,

my friend Stephen Munson in a training video suggested to look at “vulnerability” research  by Dr. Brene Brown.

I am so grateful Stephen suggested this,

It clear out a lot of my insecurity and noises, and confusion about my success.

Of course, this is a work in progress everyday.

The original meaning of “Courage” means share all of yourself with your whole heart.

It requires courage that allow yourself to be 100% vunerable, including shame, failures and painful past.

I had to constantly anchor myself back to the core of “why” I am doing what I am doing and remind myself that this is not about winning or losing; it is not about getting likes on facebook or not.

This is about allowing myself to be in the “arena” and get my ass kicked a couple of times and inspire others to be courageous and authentic.

It is the courageous ones allow themselves to be vulnerable.

The truth is, “Vulnerability” is the cornerstone of confidence.

Realize that everyone has a past, “everyone”,

including the ones who looked perfect,

It is okay to be vulnerable and

be your true self.

We do not need to be perfect.

All we need to do is BE OURSELVES.

Take risk to be seen who we really are.

You are worthy as who you are.

We are worthy. Period.

It is not your job to have everyone approved of you.

It is your job in your life to be YOU and

give value to others by being you.

If you are interested in where all this started, I made a playlist of this video series.

Feel free to share this story if you think someone can be helped with this message.

You are an Entrepreneur! Don’t Give Up!

You are an Entrepreneur! Don’t Give Up!

Reblogged From You are an Entrepreneur! Don’t Give Up!

Be the Underdog!

If I can do it, anyone can do it.

10 years ago, some boss before she laid me off,

she told me “Don’t do anything creative in this life, you are not cut out for it.

For years, my dad told me be realistic, go get a job, sit tight and get paid. Save money and buy a house.

Couple MONTHS ago, just couple months ago, my boss at the time at the engineering company told me,

“If you don’t improve your performance, we are going to have to take away your stock options”

When I was still working at a cubicle, at that BOX,

I always get called in the office by my “boss” and going over

reviews after reviews

meetings after meetings about my performance.

My heart was heavy.

I was not amazing because I could not see myself working at the same place for 30 years.

My heart was not there and I do not like living under fear.

The fear of am I doing okay with this, am I getting in trouble with my boss, am I late to the office, am I late to a meeting…

It was like…….You know what…I don’t need this…

The mindset of “depend on nobody” really changed my mind.

I create my own economy now.

I can live pretty much anywhere I want with my laptop and make money online.

“Depend on Nobody’ is a mindset that takes time to develop.

It take 10~20~30 years to put poison in your head,

it takes some time to develop the right mindset.

It not only take some new information to get in your head, some guts to DECIDE enough is enough,  but it is almost like a science that you can train your mind to think the right way in order to get the result you want.

I need you to embrace your struggles and challenges because you can use it for MOTIVATION.

I am working on something, a live webnar that will help you all a lot!

Stay tuned.

Meanwhile you can subscribe to my newsletter to be informed on my next live Free. training.
