Rick Warren Says Surviving Isn’t Thriving
There are three levels of living.
1. Survival 2.Success 3.Significance
Survival is simply dead man walking.
Unfortunately, that is what most people are.
They live for the weekend, waiting for the vacation, putting their time in to a job they don’t like.
They dread to go to work, and they dread for Mondays, and they live pay check to pay check.
Success is feel good, look good and having the goods.
The good life.
Trust me, it just wasn’t good enough
I had a six figure “job” but success without fulfillment is still a failure.
If I didn’t live my “calling in life”, if I didn’t feel I was impacting anyone’s lives, if I didn’t feel like I was progressing or living my passion,..I simply could not move forward.
Significance on the other hand, is moving to a higher level in life.
We are not made just for the good life but for the better life.
It is a lifetime learning process to understand, “why are we on this earth”,
“what is driving us.” “Does my life matter” “What is my purpose in life”
I think God give us different passions in life, and also talents.
We are all different.
We also have different personality.
We can all make this a world better place if we are all doing what we are passionate about I think.
We can “Serve” better, we can “Do” better in this life.
I don’t think our life belong to us only.
We can extend ourselves to serve others with kindness, in grace, with love, in humility, with our gift.
Everyone “matters” in this life. Everyone can serve with his/her own story, experience, talent, message, gift.
I am here to serve, I want to help improve people think, change, and live boldly.
Picasso said it best,
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
